In case anyone was concerned, I am still alive... just haven't had much to say lately. Things are going pretty well; I still have rehearsals twice a week, one of which is not challenging, while the other takes almost all my concentration.

That warm, wooly feeling I had last night that I'm attributing to civic pride, but may have been my leftovers coming back to haunt me, was quickly supplanted with disgust at the results of the Maryland elections. A Republican voting in Baltimore City? Pretty much a fart in the wind. Let's just hope that Governor O'Malley isn't as ineffective as he was as mayor.

As it is twice every year, we're in that period where it's not cold enough outside to leave the heat on all the time, but too warm inside not to turn on the air conditioning.

I can accept that Dad is and always will be a Republican, but I had high hopes for you that you'd see the light and come away from the right. I guess not. I'd go with the "in your face!" about the Democrats reclaiming the House (and possibly the Senate *keeps fingers crossed*) but I'm afraid that the next two years will be filled with the same partisan vitriol we've always had and little actual progress on either party's agenda. I certainly don't expect Bush to be enthusiastic about working with a Democratic House. Still, I've been in a good mood all day. It's about damn time the Democrats won something.

All politics is still local, and the Democrats haven't been doing a very good job around here. However, the Democrats didn't win on their own merits, the country was just tired of the GOP being in power and still complaining about everything.

Besides, Dad always claims to be more middle of the spectrum than anything else.

True, the Democrats didn't win on their own merit. I'm hoping for the next elections, they'll have done enough to prove they're not bad so they do win more on merit.

It'll be interesting, especially with Rumsfeld resigning....

I mostly hate politics, though. :P I just like making fun of it more than anything ;)
