Concert #1
Oct. 29th, 2005 11:58 pmJohn Denver concert #1 went off amazingly well. The house was packed, everyone gave the orchestra lots of ovations and compliments, and lots and lots of money was raised*. I took several pictures; look for them in an upcoming post. It was one long day, though: driving all the way to Annapolis, rehearsal at 2:30, dinner break at 5:30, kill time until stage call at 7:30, concert from 8-11, then the 45-minute or so to drive home.
Concert #2 tomorrow. I'm glad for that extra hour of sleep.
*- At the intermission, they auctioned off a mounted copy of John Denver's Grammy-winning CD, released in 1997 and signed by him before he died. Someone in the audience paid $6,500 for it, all the proceeds going to the charity, Maryland Theraputic Riding.
